I have been pondering this question-Why trust?
Why even pursue trust?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this question
As I think out loud, one word comes screaming out
Intimacy
Deep, deep down, who does not long to be truly known at the deepest level?
Think about it
Honestly
Words like loneliness or isolation or alienation are the opposite of intimacy

Who desires that?
Is trust worth pursuing?
Sure, but...
Maybe your paralyzed by fear to take a first step or...maybe you took that step
Maybe you've been burned before when you've let your guard down
You've been laughed at because you were honest
You took a step and were rejected
You thought he was the one and told all and now he is gone and you wonder about all you have given away
etc. etc.
fill in the blank, right?
Maybe you have been shut down for so long you cannot even see the light anymore
Wherever you are, I hope you'll consider pursuing intimacy...taking a step...entering the conversation...
Having it out with God

thought it was interesting in last week's inaugural address that the new President promised to " do our business in the light of day - because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government."
ReplyDeletehard for trust to grow without light... transparency.
Trust is knowing that my Lord and Savior loves me so much that His plan is perfect for me. I can rest in the fact that He is active in my "everyday". Think of this...wouldn't it be a dismal feeling if you were a Deist and you believed God just set your life in motion and then stood back to let things "fall where they may". No intimacy. No relationship. You're a loner.
ReplyDeleteLet me share what has been happening in my life the past 6 months. Our 3rd son was born with a disease called EB (epidermolysis bullosa). When he was born he had no skin on his knees or ankles and lacked the bonding agent to keep the layers of skin together. Any touch to his body blisters him and his skin literally comes off. It takes 2 hours each and every day to bandage him to hopefully cut down on the blistering. It has rocked our world. Only 45 babies were born with this disease in the US last year.
I tell you this to build the background to say to you that my TRUST in GOD's perfect plan is all I have. I don't have the answers and honestly don't ask "why". I trust that He is accomplishing His work through this precious little baby. There are only 2 ways to go when you are faced with adversity. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding or run from God. And you have a choice! You can chose to fall at the feet of your Creator.
